You will discover the secrets of the marine protected area, how the peninsula was formed, the reason behind the red and black sand of the beaches and more. An interactive and stimulating activity ideal for curious people of all ages, offered from June 10 to August 31 (hours vary). Don’t miss your chance to register for this exciting activity! Who will get the chance to go on a sea excursion to Île aux Perroquets, a magical island where you can discover a lighthouse, Atlantic puffins, razorbills and maybe even curious seals? Second stop, Île Nue de Mingan, which will surprise you with its mythical monoliths and unique alpine vegetation. The Parks Canada guides will fascinate you with the history and geology of the islands. You can even spend the night in a tent on Île Nue de Mingan or stay in a four-star inn on Île aux Perroquets. Be on the lookout: whales love this area!
Parks Canada centers offer privileged views of the St. Lawrence Estuary and the Saguenay Fjord. Sit back and watch a minke whale feeding nearby, hear the powerful blow of a whale and follow the flight of seabirds. You can talk with passionate naturalist-guides, participate in interpretation activities and visit exhibits to learn more about the rich biodiversity of the first marine protected area in Quebec and about maritime culture. In the heart of the Nitassinan of Pessamit, the Uapishka Station is an ecotourism enterprise and a scientific research station co-founded by the Pessamit Innu Council and UNESCO’s Manicouagan-Uapishka World Biosphere Reserve. On the edge of the Groulx Mountains (Uapishka) and the Manicouagan crater, it opens the doors to a Nordic universe unparalleled in Quebec. Be among the many travelers who make their way to the end of Route 138; it’s an experience in itself! Located in the small English-speaking community of Kegaska, the “Fin” (End) sign attracts many curious people every year. Take a picture of yourself in front of this mythical sign to keep a nice souvenir of your road trip in the Côte-Nord region!

Côte-Nord stickers are available free of charge at tourist information offices, while supplies last. You can also purchase the Côte-Nord travel booklet to keep a precious souvenir of the region.
