Did you know that you can paddle a series of safe, marked itineraries along the St. Lawrence and the Saint-Anne River? This is Portneuf’s “Route bleue.” Adventurous canoeists and kayakers can now explore the St. Lawrence River between the wharf in Cap-Santé and the wharf in Les Écureuils in Donnacona, where there are picnic facilities. If you prefer to experience one of the three sections of the Sainte-Anne River ideal for newcomers to the sport, head up to Saint-Raymond, Sainte-Christine-d’Auvergne or the Parc naturel régional de Portneuf (Saint-Alban) to access one of the starting points for these circuits available to all. Take a rafting excursion with your family down the picturesque Sainte-Anne River and discover its beautiful gorges and rock formations as well as the Canyon aux éléphants sculptés (translated as the canyon with sculpted elephants)! Halfway between relaxation and adventure, Les Excursions de l’Ouest provide a fun and accessible family activity that includes a three-hour river trip (approximately) with breaks for swimming, picnicking or simply taking in the surrounding nature.
