Surrounded by both urban and rural landscapes, this linear park is dotted with inns, campgrounds and many tourist attractions. Built on the track of the old Témiscouata railway that joined Rivière-du-Loup and Edmundston in New Brunswick, this 134-km, fine gravel path passes through Témiscouata and follows the shoreline of the region’s largest lake.
Located in the natural region of the Notre-Dame Mountains, the park covers 175 km2 and embraces the largest and most majestic lake of the area, Lake Témiscouata. It’s a great place for hiking, cycling, water sports, exploration, archaeology, camping and more!
With nearly one kilometre of fine sand, Pohénégamook Beach is not only the most beautiful freshwater beach in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, but it’s also listed among the top 10 best beaches in Quebec. Canoe, kayak and paddleboard rentals are offered, and you can enjoy the province’s largest inflatable playground on the water. You can even camp there!
As well as displaying the history of maple products in Quebec at their Économusée on-site, this family business has also created four alcoholic beverages: white table wine, sparkling wine, an aperitif and a digestive. Guided visits to the maple production facilities and cellars include a tasting of the various products. Make sure to swing by the boutique so you don’t go back home empty-handed!
